hello again my friends!

hey! we're back. this is just a quick post to let you know i'm following a bunch of people from discord servers and twitter and just surfing blog links here, so you may have received a follow notification from me. i feel a strange need to announce this, as though it's odd to follow people on a blog site. i don't know. i guess i feel the tentativeness of slow online mediums a lot because i associate them with being, like, a preteen on the internet who didn't know what they were doing and didn't know what the etiquette was when going on forums and livejournal and all that. all that shyness aside, i'd like to move towards slow mediums before twitter inevitably implodes. i hate the desperation and loneliness and commodification i feel with fast social media. (it's oh so easy to blame it on that and not, like, my emotional problems. lol.)
but i have some fun stuff in the pipelines here so let's talk about that instead 😎
the first thing is, while i've been working on graduated commitment, my novel about late-stage capitalism and the eroticism of brainwashing, i am hoping to post some journals about my 'research' for this project which has inevitably just been lots and lots of self-hypnosis and brainwashing. some will likely be locked. it's been a lot of fun method acting in a more regimented fashion than i'm used to, and becoming increasingly enchanted with the performance. it has solidified the thesis of the book which i'm psyched about, to be honest. these reflective thoughts have previously gone on a locked twitter, indeed i'm guessing the seeds will end up staying on that twitter before getting tidied into something a bit longer here. but if you're interested in the locked journals, i'll mutually grant access with you if we've spoken, or you seem cool. :)
the second thing is i'd like to move towards posting my art, meta and fic snippets here as a default, like the first port of call after posting to my site (which i haven't updated in a billion million years. the last art on there is from 2021. oh dear.) i think this will give me a chance to publish more sketchy things and WIPs without feeling the same pressure to finish anything, necessarily. also maybe i can talk about what i'm doing in terms of practicing my crafts as well. again, things that feel navel-gazey on social media but better fit, you know. a journal.
maybe i'll try and catch up with the snowflake challenge too? that may be a tall order. it's a busy month. but we'll see!
